How much are BPs affected by light?
This topic must have be discussed so many times, but I'm just curious on how much colour BPs can truly see, I have a moonlight LED it seems whenever I turn it on my BP just stops doesn't move for a few seconds, I suppose it's because something has suddenly changed? and when he's about to come out of his hide at night he usually just come straight out of the LED is off.. But I've noticed if I just leave the LED on he'll be more reluctant to come out.
What are your thoughts on this?

I'll be following this thread. My BPs current cage doesn't have lighting but the new one I picked up does. When I used a flashlight to check on him now it doesn't seem to bother him, if he is poking out seeing what's going on he stays that way.

I don't think most reptiles can see red light, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I use red light to view them if I need to at night. My snake room faces the east so they get a sunrise and are usually hidden in the morning and start poking their heads out around the early afternoon.

Its probably reacting to your heat signature or the lights signature. They cant see red, orange, and i believe some of the yellow spectrum

I got my BP cage with no light but my red tail boa and bearded dragon got lights. The bp gets light from them as well as room light at night and day light during the day and she seems fine.
