My first ball pythons (vanilla and piebald)

I am not new to snakes or reptiles but just now getting in to ball pythons, but the serpent atrium by me had these on sale for 20% off for members so I couldn't leave them behind. I have a 4.5ft columbian rainbow boa, and I used to have a snow corn snake.

i got the male piebald for 400 and the female vanilla for 60. Next year I will probably look for a breed able female for the piebald.

Lovely pied. But man that vanilla is dark. For $60 she's not bad, but I like mine to be much lighter and more obviously vanilla.

Thanks every one, my wife loved the vanilla so it was more for her I want either a spider or a pinstripe. I read it is normal for vanillas to get lighter with age this one was hatched in June or July from what they told me so is it normal for them to be that dark?

Same tank for now I picked up a 55 gallon tank (48x16x17) with two sliding tops for 35 bucks, I plan on building a wall in the center where the support is in the center

Well that's good. I would suggest getting better hides. The one in the pic looks to small for one snake and two is never gonna work.

They actually fit pretty good in there, there are two and there is one in each right now, they were a quick grab right now they are in a small 10 gallon till I get everything squared away.

Those were here some plastic buckets I got 2 for a dollar at the 99 cent store cut a hole big enough and melted it to smooth it out

Well they are in separate ones because they both can not fit in one. What do they do if they both require heat but cant fit in the hide on the warm side?

They are in here for the day, I have never kept two snakes in a tank before would that be ok? I read a few things saying it can make them not eat, if they go in the 55 should I just let them have the whole ting to both of them? Or divide them. Also since it is a male and female would I have to worry about the female getting knocked up before she is big enough to safely carry the eggs
