i found this thread at a boa forum. it shows a great looking cage built from a rubbermaid. I wonder if its possible to make it work for a bp using heat tape....check it out -

It would definitely be possible to do it for a bp, but I would be inclined to attach the acrylic with something more secure than hot glue. Of course, the transparent Sterilites are pretty see-through and I don't have any problem seeing my snakes through them.
3.1.1 BP (Snyder, Hanover, Bo Peep, Sir NAITF, Eve), 1.2.3 Rhacodactylus ciliatus (Sandiego, Carmen, Scooby, Camo, BABIES ), 1.0 Chow (Buddha), 0.2 cats (Jezebel, PCBH "Nanners"), 0.3 humans

I was going to do that. You can get really big rubbermaid containers, 55 gallons or more maybe. I still may do that, but I am not sure.

I'm a bit worried about holding it up with "hot glue", I'm sure theres a nice sealer in Home Depot to use instead.
Last time I checked "hot glue" doesn't hold to well.

silacone sealant works well, you can also drill holes, screw in place and then cover cracks and screws with silacone

That's pretty cool. Dunno why I never thought of that. I've been looking at the big ol' rubbermaid storage tubs you can get that are like 5 foot by 3 foot or something, but not clear plastic. Cheap boa housing with a few modifications maybe?

You could attach hinges to the bottom and put bar latches on the top that way you could open it up from the top or side
