This is mostly directed at Eyelash Viper, since he's the only person I've seen so far on the site who has one. Want to give me a general run down on the pac man frog? I managed to leave the NARBC without taking any animals home with me, but the albino pac man frog was tempting...
The booth that had them was super busy, so I didn't really get a chance to ask a lot of questions about them. Roughly all I managed to get in terms of information was "they get to be about the size of a grapefruit".

Yeah. I could google it, but I was wondering if anybody had some "person to person" advice. Honestly though, considering the amount of water I'd have to use for a frog, I'm more likely to make my next addition another snake or a day gecko of some sort. And someday I'll get around to starting a saltwater tank...some day when I have money

Sigh.. stray cat finding
I can tell you that they are pretty interesting frogs! I have had my female, Benny, for a few years now, and she is fully grown at about 4.5 inches. She really is not that active, and spends most of her time buried in the substrate. But once in awhile she comes out, and we feed her nightcrawlers, which she snaps up eagerly.
If you get one, don't expect it to be a pet you can handle. They really do best when left alone and allowed to bury themselves. It is almost more like owning a plant than a pet, lol. But it is cool when you can look at your giant frog and say, wow, I grew that thing! Here are a few pics of Benny:
I call this "The Frogfather" shot:
And this was a scan I did of her to show a belly view:

Hrm. How did I miss Gin posting on the 11th? Oh well.
Nah, I'm okay with having animals I can't handle. Heck, I'd like to get day geckos sometime, and you really can't handle them at all (other than Standing's, and I doubt I'd handle Standing's much. I'd just start out with Standing's in terms of escapes). Fragile skin, nervous reptiles...gorgeous. If I want to snuggle up to a pet, I have my cat. Having animals I can't handle is kinda like keeping fish, only different.
I like the frogfather shot, and I love the avatar Gin.
Does she make a lot of noise at night, or anything like that?
Also, what are you keeping her in? How deep is the substrate and what are you using so she can bury herself?

Good name..lol
Hehe, hope you don't mind me borrowing your name! I have thought for days about what to name him, and that name just fits. Probably because he looks rusty; he kinda reminds me of the cars we owned in the past in that regard.
Schlyne; Benny really does not make any noise, unless you startle her. She'll make this squeak sound, which is actually kind of cute. You would definately not expect such a robust, tough lookin' looking frog to make such a funny sound.
Some of the pacman frogs can be pretty loud, making actual hissing sounds, but this is only if you disturb them. I had one that would make a sound that was just like frying bacon, if you sprayed him with water. I have heard that males call sometimes, and it is like a quiet trilling sound. But it seems like a rare event that you would look forward to hearing, not something that would get annoying.
Oh, my avatar is a pic of Apache's face. He is the only photogenic snake I own.
