Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

I don't know if it's just me, but he seems a little underweight and maybe slightly dehydrated. I don't know, maybe it's just the vet tech eye I have. If you can pinch his skin on his side, not hard, but enough to raise it up off of his body, and it stays for more than 1-2 seconds, then he is dehydrated. Maybe a good hour long soak would do him good. Just looking out for your new guy.

Oh! And definately make sure to get a fecal done on him/her. Since the Petco bps are kept together, there's an increased risk of a parasitic infection. If one has it, the others WILL get it. You don't need a vet appt. to do this, just get a fresh fecal sample, make sure you keep it in the fridge if it's going to be more than a few hours before you go to the vet. Oh and a baggie might be helpful (it's an inside joke)

    Explanation of inside joke:
My teacher Sue was out with the cows the other day and didn't have a baggie... So she just scooped some poo in her hand and walked back a few thousand feet to school. She's funny like that :-D
