 I have attained the 9th level of perfection in my Ball Python husbandry. I can actually tell by looking at their faces when they are "hongry for chow"...actually I can sort of tell when they want to be fed because they do sort of get a hungry look to them....they start looking around and inspecting everything and I would swear that they give me a look like they expect me to have something for them. :? when they are not hungry and have their tummies full they go back to sleep and ignore me for the next three days. Im beginning to think that they just tolerate me for the food I bring them!!!!!!!!!!

lol, nope. I can't really tell when my bp is hungry. She's usually relaxing in her hide as always when I go up there with her din-din. But then when she gets the scent of that lovely mousie aroma in the air, you can tell she's hungry. Right away, that hunt mode switches on. It's funny, lately she's been doing this sneak attack thing with the mouse. Guess I really fool her into think it's live with my wiggles. I'll put it down facing her, and she'll eye it, then realise it's food, so she'll start slithering a bit away from it, all the while looking away from it as it to trick it into thinking it's not being stalked by her, then she'll swipe to the left and nab it. Guess she thinks she's sly.

Yep, depending on the snake, sometimes there are behavior patters that do seem to indicate they're hunting.

Jaggy is a lump, can never tell when he is hungry but i could probably assume he usually is lol.
Bones on the other hand is quite the avid hunter. I always know when he is looking for chow.
