Talk about hitting some odds!
Enchi x queenspin. Hit a normal. Any statistics people care to tell me the chances of that? Lol

According to world of ball pythons, the odds for your clutch are

*stares at list of possible outcomes. Blinks a couple times*
Wow. That's a lot of possible outcomes.

Because you asked about it form a statistical standpoint - because there were no overlapping genes and all were simple dominance at work - the odds of hitting any combo is the same, as shown in the chart, so from a strictly statistical breakdown, your odds of hitting a normal are the same as the odds of hitting enchi queen spin, or enchi pastel, or etc. etc. etc. so, "talking about hitting some odds" is more or less a false statement, since each combo has the exact same chance of hitting (1/32) ;-)

You're right, the odds of getting any 1 particular combination is 1 in 32. But I'll bet the point was that odds of not getting a normal were 31 in 32.

*smh* the odds of not getting any of the combos or single gene snakes at all - normal or 4 banger - is also 31 in 32 . . . point, back to you.

True, if the odds of getting any particular combination are 1 in 32, then the odds of not getting a particular combination are 31 in 32. But a normal is the only combination that really does not help one improve one's collection. A normal does not help add genes to one's collection and is usually harder to sell or trade, and brings a lower dollar value in a sale or trade than any other combination. So, I would expect that most people breeding would feel that getting a normal, when any of the other 31 combinations would have been more helpful to their long term goals, would be unfortunate odds. Mathmatically, getting the normal is no different than any other combination, it is just less exciting and less helpful. Also, they missed the 1 in 2 odds that the combination would at least have Pastel, the 1 in 2 odds that the combination would at least have Enchi, the 1 in 2 odds that the combination would at least have Lesser, the 1 in 2 odds that the combination would at least have Spider, and the1 in 2 odds that the combination would at least have Pinstripe.

. . . but they hit the 1:2 odds that they would get a normal instead of pastel, a normal instead of enchi, need I continue ;-) . . .
While I agree its the under desired of the possibilities, from a purely mathematical standpoint, the odds were clear cut the same no matter what was produced, since every mutation involved had a 50/50 chance of hitting.
