Local pet shop
Saw this poor normal at a local shop today. Sadly about half of them are like this :/.

Re: Local pet shop
Yeah, don't plan on it.
My rat supplier didn't have enough for me this week so I went there to see if I could get a frozen rat pup. While I was waiting I took a look at their reptiles and found this.
Ridiculous.

Looks right on par for what I've seen lately. It wouldn't be hard for the chains to change their organizational structure ever so slightly to include a reptile manager instead of grouping them with the "companion animals" manager. A one time only 30 minute block of instruction followed by a short amount of time dedication as an extra duty.

Yeah same here. Just sucks to see that. Not sure how you could look in that tank as an owner and think everything looks ok.

Did you bring it to their attention that they are dead wrong?
If it was a chain, then they probably won't do a thing, but if it's a mom n pop they might...so many people just don't know better, others don't care...
Im attempting to rescue a load of snakes that were being kept the same way and all show symptoms of RI!
The owner has had all these ball dumped at his place and just couldn't say no.
They're all now in their own cages living under proper conditions, he's been very happy to get some help.
