    Always pink belly

My baby bp (about 6-9 months) seems to always have a pinkish belly like he is starting a shed cycle. He is shedding about every 3 weeks right now, but I am just wondering if it is common for baby bps to always have that pink hue to their bellies. I would take a picture, but he refuses to let me take a pic of his belly.....

Do you have a piece of glass you can put him on and then take the photo from underneath?

I would keep check on the humidity, and if it is high then you can lower it, also make sure the substrate is not damp.

    Re: Always pink belly

If it's just when he's about to shed, and not constantly, then yes, that's normal. Some of my ball pythons get bright pink right before they shed, some don't, but they definitely have a routine.

if it's constant, even when he's not going into a shed cycle, I'd be worried that the belly scales might be getting irritated by something.

Thanks everybody. He is on paper towels and he is definitely growing like a weed! I'm new to the bp world, so it might just seem pinkish to me. I will see if I can't get a picture and post it. Like I said, he is still pretty particular about getting pictures.

Also, what are the temps at the glass/bottom of the vive, both on the warm spot and cool side, how are you measuring, and how are you maintaining (UTH with thermostat, for example)??
