I really need to get better pictures of the guy, but he's so little and wiggly that unless he's eating I can't get the distance I need with my camera/lens combination, unless I want to be chasing him around

He's a really neat little guy. I don't know a thing about easterns, but. When in doubt, go both.

Re: Tis the day for new king snakes.

Try putting him on a table and give him a prop to wrap around such as a candle or napkin holder, perhaps a paper towel holder. Sometimes it helps stall their movements and they are more cautious with darting to and fro.

I'm just going to keep updating this thread because why not.

First feeding with two pinkies. He was happy, if somewhat stuffed.

Just realized it had been a bit since I updated over here.

The little guy is up to 30 grams and is eating 'peach fuzzies' (small fuzzies, basically). His feeding response is a little over the top and gets me a small snake attached to a hand on feeding day (and I AM using tongs!), but otherwise his temperament's pretty cool. Some tail rattling when I'm reaching in to grab him but that's about the size of it. He's definitely, visibly grown and is easier to handle as a result. Could do with him being ten times the size he is, but he's getting there.

    Dooo eeettt!

Ha! I'm a bit late to the party here again, but I ended up with a really nice coastal carpet python.

However, these little Kings seem to provide more entertainment than any royal python could. Correct me if I'm wrong LOL!

I'll say the coastals were ready to go at the expo I was at but it could just as easily been a king.

I love these king snake threads.

OH, and Cappy Jack,,, those last pictures were a riot!

Oh, man. This little guy is personality plus. I ADORE the BP because they're so great at hanging out with me on the computer or watching TV, but as far as actively HANDLING a snake instead of just holding it, it's the little king every time. I added a corn after him and she's all kinds of fun too (and adult) but Roger's fiesty.

He's also totally, totally my favorite.

    Thanks!

Those props with the BP were for cute. For him they were pure containment. They didn't buy me a lot of time, but got me a little. Good enough, I guess.
