Male BP acting strange? Is he smelling my female?
The past 2 nights my male normal (about 1.5yrs old and 1kg), has been really trying to get out of his tub at night. I can hear bump bump bump all night as he taps his nose along the side, and he's been making a ton of noise moving around. I think I heard him hiss or something a few times too, it was like a loud deep exhalation. Temps are good, 80 ambient, 90 hotspot. He is housed in a tub in a single level rack (it was a long TV stand, so it takes 3 tubs across and I have 2 tanks on top of the stand), with my female pewter in the tank above him. She has just hit 1000g (she's a little over 3 feet long), but is only 8 months old. Could she have reached sexual maturity already and is giving off pheromones? Do BPs even do that?
I'm just wondering if it's related to the female above him, or if it's just a case of spring fever and he'd be doing it regardless of her. I could move her. I don't want him to hurt himself bumping around like that all night. He was starting to get some dry peeling skin, not like a wound, but more like his next shed coming loose in a spot on top of his head. He's not in shed though.
Oh and he also hasn't eaten in about a month, but hasn't lost much weight. My female pewter has just started eating again after a couple of weeks off and she is voracious. She was also climbing around like crazy last night, which is not like her usually.

I want to add that although I'm pretty sure I heard him hissing or something, he was not defensive when I checked in on him, he was just happy I opened the tub so he could climb out.
