I said I'd probably never have a ball python...
I brought a pastel female home from Repticon today. She's quite young, but I'm not sure how old.
She's about one foot long. Is a 40 gallon breeder too big for her right now?
1 Husband, 1 Western Hognose Snake (male), 2 ferrets (2 females), 1 male jungle leopard gecko, 4 gerbils (2 females & 2 males), 1 male dwarf rabbit, 3 guinea pigs (1 male, 1 female and 1 female skinny pig), 2 American parakeets, 2 cats (male bobcat hybrid and a male Egyptian Mau mix), and 2 dogs (female Mini Dachshund and a female Alaskan Malamute).

It was a great show. I bought a female spider, pastel male, normal female and a male hypo boa.

Think a 40 gallon breeder is way to big for her unless you have lots and lots of clutter and hides to make her feel secure

Okay, would a 10 gallon or a 20 long be better?

20 gallon long would probably be ok. What is her weight?

I'm going to give an educated guess and say that she's probably around 6-8 months old. With how long she is, for now - if I were you I would go with a 20 gallon.

She's about 10g heavier than my guy. I had him in a 10 gallon and it was WAY too small. I didn't want to have to buy an extra tank, so I went for the 40. It is really big, BUT, I have TONS of stuff in there. He has two hides, a big water dish, a little water dish, and a LOT of fake plants. It looks like a jungle in there. He seems to be okay. He eats a fuzzy rat every five days and has gained about 50g since I got him. So, my suggestion is a 40 with lots of clutter is fine if you don't want to have to buy another tank later.
