Strange behavior

Im observing my male Boa laying next to the water dish with his head partially submerged in the water. Back up 15 min. He was drinking and the decided to submerged his entire head and leave it submerged for a minute or lifted it up and repeat. Additionally he opens his mouth randomly like he is yawning and sometimes only slightly. I hear him make a low hissing noise but if i put his head near my ear I do not hear any real stressed breathing.

To add to my first post.....I looked in his mouth and there is no signs of mouth rot. I should add to his breathing sometimes he make a slight "Paaaaahhhh" noise. Is this normal or the start of a RI issue.

My boas are very "breathy". Sometimes if they are right in my face or ear, you can hear them breath.

I don't have much experience, but my boa just did everything you said with the water, opening his mouth a lot and the weird sound. It was about 5 days after his eyes were cloudy. He was getting ready to shed. It took much longer than all the books/people say, he finally shed, without issue, today. It took a few weeks, like almost 3. Anyway, I'm sure others know better than me, but I thought id tell you about my experience just in case

I have actually seen a couple of my boas blow bubbles in their water. Snakes are pretty primitive, but we don't know just how their thought process works. Who knows, it might be like a bored child blowing bubbles in their chocolate milk. Kinda silly, I know, but the fact is, we just don't know what they think sometimes.

And, yes, boas can be breathy. They like to huff and puff sometimes.
