North Myrtle Beach, SC Reptile Ban

I just read in a article that all reptiles are banned in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. That is just rediculous in my mind. What is this country coming to? I feel like all our rights are being slowly taken away. I am scared to see what lies for us reptile keepers ten years from now. Heres the link if anyones interested.

Heres a quote from the article:

:cens0r:"It shall be unlawful for any person to keep any wild animals, vicious animals, reptiles, livestock or poultry, except at carnivals and circuses authorized by special permit in accordance with this Code, provided such use does not exceed a period of one week; a zoo; a non-profit educational or research facility; and a for-profit business where animals are displayed, but are not sold, bartered, given or traded to the public."
