Queen of Common Sense
Wow. It's been a while since anything has been posted in this forum, so I'm borrowing a couple of photos Smulkin took of my newest addition. This is a female liasis fuscus, also known as the brown water python. They are native to Australia. This female, who I've named Lilith, is meant to be an eventual mate for my very sweet little guy, Zephyr. But as you can see by the photos, Lilith is not so sweet. She quite defensive, and if we can't break her of her nasty demeanor before the snakes reach adulthood, she may very will eat poor Zephyr before letting him mate with her. She's already bitten Smulkin. It's strange, when I handled her at the herp show, she was quite docile, but as you can see, she's pretty defensive now:

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

Nice pics! She's a pretty snake, even if she is a little grumpy.
