    Question What food?

At the moment i am feeding my 1 year old female, rat pups (small ones though). She is 360 grams and a great feeder. Last week however she ate one, i fed her another, then another and then a fourth. Does this mean i should move her up in size or rats? or is feeding more of smaller rats ok for her health? I am feeding every sunday.

That's an odd question for a snake doctor to be asking...
    Lucifer Sam, Siam cat...

    That cat's something I can't explain...

I got her underweight from Pets at Home (a usually reasonably good english pet shop) and have only had her half of her life (at the beginning with me was NOT a very good feeder at the beginning.

You should be able to bump the size of rodent up. You can either feed 15-20% of the snakes weight or a rodent about the same thickness as the snake (I think this was is easier). And like said before, 360g is underweight for a 1 year old. What is your feeding schedule? At that size I would feed every 5 days.

    Re: What food?

She can be eating a rodent that is as big as her widest part. Some prefer multiple smaller ones, others will take one appropriate sized meal. Bottom line, feed her whatever she'll eat.
If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

You can more than likely move up a size, or keep feeding multiples... but I would bump it up and feed every 5 days for a little.
I go by the widest girth on my snake and feed a rodent of equivalent size. The prey can also be just a tad bigger.

    Re: What food?

Get her on weaned rats now and in a month or two she will be up to 500g and you can switch her to smalls.

Yeah with all this pooling i must say what is a small rat?. Small or Medium or etc can vary from place to place but 70g is 70g. So somewhat useless pool

Anyhow feed her every 5-7 days somewhat roughly 10-15% of her body weight. Just be careful the pray is not wider than widest part of the snake and you're set to go.
