I would maybe go to the library, purchase a couple books on the subject, talk to other breeders, and do lots of research before making that kind of decision. I don't know much about the subject, sorry I can't be more help but I'm sure someone will come along and answer your questions.

Whats wrong here?
Ball pythons reach sexual maturity between 18 months and 4 years of age. The recommended size for a male seems to be 800g. There are varying opinions on how much a female should weigh. I've heard 1500g recommended most, but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to wait until your female reaches 2000g to be on the safe side. I am personally shooting for 2500g+ as I think the extra weight is worth it for larger clutches and/or hatchlings.
~40 Ball Pythons (mostly Freeway/Asphalt, Bongo, GHI, and Leopard combos)
3.8.3 Green Tree Pythons (mostly TM/TW blueline, a few Highland/Wamena)
1.2 Children's Pythons
1.2 Cay Caulker Boas
1.2 Black Fuli House Snakes
1.0.4 Amazon Tree Boas (1x tiger, 3x halloween garden, 1x garden)
