As most of you know i have been wanting another snake for some time but after doing tons and tons of research about ribbons i know they cant eat only fish and i cant find worms here anywhere so my two questions are, can they live off of pinkie mice and guppies and still be healthy ?? or can they live of both pinkies and crickets

I don't know what they need to stay healthy...but I wondered if you tried to find a bait shop for the worms?

Walmart usually sells worms in the sports section, pretty cheap for a container full of canadian crawlers, I think about $2 or $3.....If you can't find them, just ask someone working in that department. Every Walmart I've ever been to sells them whether it was down here in Florida or up north in NY....

You may have to try goldfish, or guppies. I've heard of people getting ribbon snakes to a strictly rodent diet, but i've heard of more people that have had major problems getting them on just rodents.

ok im going to wal mart tomorrow so i wil ask somebody. I didnt check the bait shop here yet but that is a good idea, i should have thought about that. It would be alot easier if they just ate mice but they are so skinny even a fuzzy seems like it would be a mouthfull. Guppies are no prob at all, i breed my own and my momma fishes (all 6) are either pregnant or just gave birth.

We had an eastern ribbon snake for about 6 years before we let it go back into the wild. We fed it entirely on worms, seemed to thrive and do great.
