Is the snake injured? How badly? Can you see tissue?

I've only had two issue that caused me enough concern to keep an eye on them and I feed most live rats. One girl was bit pretty good by a medium rat and had exposed tissue. I cleaned her up and put some non-painkiller neo on her and kept her on clean paper until she healed.

Re: BP got bit by a small feeder RAT not mouse

If the bite is mild and minimal damage, I would put triple antibiotic ointment on the wound and put it on paper towels until she heals. If the bite is substantial, take her to the vet as soon as possible. You definitely do not want a deep tissue type of wound left unchecked. Good luck and keep us informed.

Has anyone else noticed that this thread should be moved to the right forum, say, like the BP Husbandry section?
