How would I go about heating an enclosure that I am in the process of creating using a UTH? I'm using 3/4 wood, so it's pretty thick. Thanks.

Radiant heat panels, heat tape? Is the wood going to be sealed so it doesn't get wet and rot? That could get nasty

I wonder if a UTH would really be able to heat through that thich wood. Honestly, I think you'd be better off just using an overhead lamp, the wood will retain enough of the heat long enough and provide some nice belly heat on the floor under the lamp, not to mention the proper air temp.

    questions and good news

You can use flexwatt heat tape but you need to use a thermostat with it because it will get really hot. In an enclosure that big you may also need to use heat lamps in conjuction with the heat tape. What material are you using. By all means stay away from plywood if you can it has the potential of splintering and coming apart with moisture and also plywood is mostly made out of pine which is bad for reptiles. At lowes they sell Aspen Boards up to 1" thick i would use that. But the key to any reptile cage is to always create the proper heat gradient.

What do yo plan on keeping in this huge cage?
    Thanks,
    Damien
