I've never really heard of any difference in the size between the sexes of corn snakes. Any care sheet i've ever read doesnt really make a differentiation between sexes. If you were to go with bp's and boa's, i'd say that females would get bigger. But i could be wrong. Either way Corn snakes really dont get much over 5 feet.

    POST PICS HERE!!!

Actually, in corn snakes, the males tend to get bigger. Not by much, but by some, none the less.

to be honest....i thought a ball would be too big for me too after i got home from the pet store i was having all these second thoughts and even thought about returning him but then i said to myslef, even if it does get really big (witch it wont, i thought 3,4or 5 feet was BIG at the time) i will have time to get used to his size while he is growing. Now i wish he would grow bigger than average size for a ball

Lucky is probably just like I was - and still am when considering new species. I've never really seen adult snakes and have a hard time visualizing their adult size. Whenever I consider a new species I'm always posting similiar questions - trying to get an idea of their length and also their girth. I'm always paranoid about providing too small a home and like to go bigger than the minimum recommendations...which is hard when you've never seen an adult snake.

Right now I'm having a hard time figuring out what size quarantine tub to make for a 2 month old Hog Island Boa because I've never seen one - let alone a baby - to know what size would be best.

Lucky, I agree with the others...you don't really hear much about which gets bigger with corns, there isn't much difference.

    Handling during the day??

I'm not scared of big snakes. My mom just doesn't want the biggest snake in her house... she said 4 feet would be fine.
