I made the conclusion lastnight and today that a corn snake would be best for me. But, I have questions for you experts out there! (Don't worry I'm doing my own research, I just like talking to you guys! ) Here are the questions:
:?: How big does the average corn snake get?
    :?: Do they stay thin?
:?: What is the best place to buy snake items?
:?: Is there a good place to buy a corn snake in San Francisco?
:?: Is a corn snake good for a fourteen year old? (a responsible one at that)
Thanks for at least reading the post you guys!

Average corn 3.5-4.5 feet. Sometimes/but not usally up to 5 feet.

Thinner than Ball Pythons. Maybe the thickness of a broom handle - hope that's a good analogy. Can't remember what a broom looks like! LOL>

Cheapest places I've found are online shops:
    www.bigappleherp.com
    www.herpsupplies.com
    www.reptilesource.com

I recommend the online breeders I listed in your other post....I think it was your post. You might try some reptile shows in Cali.

I think you'd have no problem handling a cornsnake. Just do your research and be sure you are willing to take on the responsibility. Take your time and don't rush into anything. Buy from someone you feel comfortable with and trust.
Ball Python, Bredl's Carpet Python, Kenyan Sand Boa, Saharan Sand Boa
Mexican Black King, California King, Snow Corn, Okeetee Corn, Everglades Ratsnake
Blue Tongued Skinks: Irian Jaya (2), Indonesian, Northern, Tanimbar, Eastern, Kei, Merauke
    Crested Gecko

Thank you! It was my other post. I've been making quite a few posts lately b/c anything about snakes is really needed here. Especially corn snakes! Thank you again!
