Ignorance

Today was not a very good day,
We were called down to rescue a ten foot burmese python that a person could no longer care for. The animal was taken by the housing authority (which was the reason said person could no longer care for it) to their town animal control faucility. We were called down by the housing authority to pick up the snake. We then called the town warden and explained we would be down within two hours. And off we went....
We arrive there, and low and behold the animal was euthanised.
The only answer we received as to why the animal was put down, when they very well knew we would be there shortly was that they could not temporarily house the animal.
Sad, it seems that everyone is talking today, but no one actually has anything to say. (Not directed towards any forum members, but I'm sure you know what I mean)
Ignorance killed a snake today.
It was also our last funds into the gas tank to get down and back.

I hate to see that. People have to do something about avaliability of these gentle giants. I can look in the news paper and see a hand full of adds with people litteral giving away they 12' burmese they cant take care of anymore. Very sad indeed.
