Weird feeding/killing situation
Today i fed my snakes and everything was normal until I saw that my 1220 gram male wrapped around the rat's lower part of the body. I didnt think much of it until i noticed that about 5 minutes had passed and the rat was still being constricted but was also still conscious (never seen a rat stay awake for more than a few seconds with this guy before) I felt bad for the rat so i rolled the snake on to the rat neck and applied pressure and ended it faster. Just wondering if this has happen to anybody before.

It's more likely just oddly placed coils, and I don't see it being an issue. It's just the way he grabbed it and constricted it.
Just out of curisoity, have you thought about or tried to switch to f/t?

Gerardo- mine gets a bad wrap sometimes as you have described. Yeah, the kill takes about twice as long.

1.1 pastels, 1.0 lesser, 0.1 spider, 1.3 norm. 1.0 fire 0.1 RTB 0.0 sav. Mon.
I have had that happen especially with younger less experienced snakes. If that happens just thump the rat with your finger like you would do to your little brother, and it will stun or kill the feeder.

When I have to feed live I hold it by the tail until the snake takes it. Not the safest way but it almost get the prey by the head so it's faster for the snake to kill it and less of a chane of the mouse or rat biting the snake.

My snakes both eat frozen/thawed, and sometimes they grab it in a weird place. Then they start trying to eat it at a weird angle, and give up. xD It is frustrating, when that happens I remove the prey, stick it under a hear lamp (to warm it up and also so the snake smells it even more) and then start over. Usually my snakes are awesome at feeding, but they have their derpy moments

Haha, mine grabbed it at an odd angle yesterday, took her ten min to move from the waist of the mouse to the butt, which gave her more complications as she tried to gulp it down. She had kind of small mouse for her size though which I think helped because the mouse's back leg was sticking out. Is it weird that she took the f/t mouse no problem when I accidentally dropped it in her cage? she waited a few minutes letting it sit there on the bedding of her cage but ate it all the same. I don't have tongs yet or I would of picked it back up but she stared at my hand good and hard so I didn't want her to start nipping at me thinking that its ok and I'm food lolz.
