    Brand new baby girl :)

So she has arrived! Little miss fate has finally come home! And of course as to be expect I'm excited.

Along with excitement however is fear and nervousness and just over all worry... She looks absolutely tiny in her tank, she looks to big for her hides and of course the heating pad is getting to hot-.- nothing like a plug and play scenario eh?

Any and all tips are welcome. You will see by the pictures her tank looks empty but I do have more stuff, we are just in the middle of a move and it turns out the bag with the stuff inside the tank got left at the parents place. (Oops-.- just another tomorrow job)

I look forward to the Feed back

You said the heat pad is getting too hot. What temp is it getting? What do you have controlling the heat pad? The temp gauge that you have in the back is not all that good for measuring temps a digital one can be nicked up from Walmart for about $15. Congrats on the pickup and welcome.

The gauge I have on the back of the tank is for humidity I have a digital thermometer with a probe on the hot end.. And it's getting up to 100 and that's when I unplugged it last night.

If you know that the heating pad is getting to hot, go to Home Depot or Walmart and get a dimmer switch for lamps like this one:

You slide the slider down until the desired temperature is reached. Used these for a while until I built a rack and bought a reptile thermostat. Works like a charm

Just be mindful that the dimmer switch can't adjust for room temp changes, with that being said I do use 4 of them for my Rufuos Beakeds. I have two controlling the 2 UTH's & 2 for the heat lamp, one for day and one for night. I'd also add a couple more hides or do something to make it cluttered. That way your snake isn't so much out in the open, and I'd also give a water bowl, but that's me.

Last but not least I'd have 2 identical hides, that wooden hide isn't really good. But congrats on your pickup and don't worry so much.
