I don't know if its the color or what, but when I place chopped mango or pear on top of my beardie's salad in the morning, he runs to the bowl like he goes for crickets.
Only problem is, he can't get the fruit in his mouth! He just sticks his tounge out at it and the pieces just get pushed around. He tried over and over and then just gets frustrated and stops. He can grab his staple collard greens and kale just fine, but for some reason he can't get the fruit in his mouth.
Is there a method of chopping or drying that I need to do or does he need to learn to use his mouth to actually grab the pieces.
My friends giant green iguana eats fruit, but actually grabs them with his jaw and not his tounge like he does with the greens. Any way to get a beardie to figure out how to do this?
