This was once a Pomeranian with a nice coat of fur I took here to a groomer that I had never been to before.... they asked what I wanted and I explained that the poor dog was hot and miserable. So she asked if I would like to get her a "summer cut". I of course said, sure. I assumed a summer cut for a Pom would be a good thinning and shortening the hair a little bit.
    Heres the after......

    and the before......

Look, sometimes bad things happen, and there is nothing you can do about it, so why worry?

Hee hee! It's starting to look like Mr. Winkle.

We once took our mutt (now living with my ex-roommate) to a groomer we'd never used and asked for a summer cut. The Beavis and Butthead giggling should have warned us. We came back to find the dog shaved from neck to base of tail, with tail, neck, legs, and head left entirely alone -- no thinning, no tapering, just furryfurrybaldbaldfurryfurrybaldbaldfurryfurrybaldbaldfurry. Poor Max refused to go for a walk or even pee in the front yard until he had some fur back.

I think it's pretty cute, but it must be quite a shocking change for you if you're used to looking at the pretty puff-ball.

    Summer cuts..lol
I have worked in many of clinics where their was groomers. (Now let me explain, I have high respect for groomers, I for one wouldn't have the patience)
Anyhow I have seen some really funny dogs get summer cuts. Imagine shepards, and huskies. They're kinda to big with summer cuts to look like stuffed animals. It used to crack us up.
Your pom is a cutie thou, and it'ss grow back. I bet he enjoys the cooling effect thou.

I think he/she looks adorable! Being a groomer myself, I always ask exactly what the client wants and if I suggest a cut I make sure they understand what it is. I'm sure it was a shock, but he/she does look really cute...and hair grows back

Hee hee! It's starting to look like Mr. Winkle.
