I've been researching and window shopping for a while and finally jumped in the deep end. I got this fella and a corn.

Yes, the sub is a vermiculite and potting soil that's a mixture of wood chips and dirt.

Ingredients: Hypnum peat, forest products, sand, and perlite. And I just read a side note that says that says it contains pine bark. That's bad right?

    Much better.

He hasn't quite settled in yet. He's been roaming a bit at night, is that normal. Could he be looking for food? He refused last weeks meal.

More than likely he just hasn't acclimated to his surroundings. As long as he has the proper humidity, temps, and is left alone for a week or two to get used to his tank he'll be just fine and ready to eat when he is.

Of course you'll find sometimes even when conditions are perfect they won't eat (even hungry) just to tick you off.

Thanks, I've been meaning to get addicted for a while now. I started with tarantulas. Here's the corn I got.
