You could spend anywhere from $1500-$2500 on an average looking albino. (High contrasts tend to be more.) Or you could get a pair of male/female hets for about $1000...raise them up yourself, breed them, and have your own albino, plus a few more to sell.

There is one in the pet shop I get crix from that is for sale for $5000!
There is even a sign on the cage that says.... "This is not a joke. Yes, this snake is actually for sale at a price of $5000.00" It's a nice looking snake but the price is outrageous!
Look, sometimes bad things happen, and there is nothing you can do about it, so why worry?

It seems like the reputable dealers tend to set the price standards. Bob Clark seemed to be the one that started it all off. I would love a ball python morph but for most people those are way out of reach and we will never have a chance to own one of those beautiful animals. Some of the prices do seem outrageos some are upwards of up to $60,000 to me that is ridiculous. But again as breeders they get the chance to set their pricing schedule.
    Thanks,
    Damien

Guess what i got to "drive" today?

Breeding those morphs has got to be very time consuming and very expensive. I wonder if those breeders even have another job besides that. Facilities like NERD are able to deal with them because their operation is able to support projects with the revenue from all of their other ventures; but it doesn't suprise me that prices are so high for them considering the amount of time and overhead involved in breeding them, esp new morphs which often take years to prove and produce.

What further suprises me is that there is actually a demand for them at these prices. Must be some really rich, really undercover herp enthusiasts out there.
