Anyone tried other insects for their cresties with success? In particular I"m wondering about silkworms (and any other worms) and roaches.

Sorry, can't be of much help here. I know some people feed mealies to theirs but mine won't eat the mealies, even if covered in mashed peaches. Anoles, however, appear to be fond of them.

I feed roaches, crickets, silk worms,"wax worms few a month" if I can find freshly shed mealies in my culture I will feed those as well. since I live in a rural area and have quite a bit of my own land I also feed field collected they love small moths

What kind of roaches? I was wondering about the Madagascar Hissing cockroaches - I'll be breeding them for my skink (along with silkworms).

I use the death head roaches and lobster roaches they both are thinner skinned than the hissers the death heads also have the + of not being able to climb glass and live birth of babies in the 1/16" to 1/8" range the down side to death heads is they arent as prolific as the lobster roaches
