Bedding for Mice???

I have a friend that currently uses the eco earth loose coconut fiber as a bedding for her mice.. Is this a safe bedding to use and what would be some pros and cons? Any thoughts? Thanks..

I guess it all depends what your purpose for the mice are. I know quite a few people use some type of Aspen.

She uses it for her breeders. I have my own breeders also but I use aspen shavings. I've never heard or seen anyone use it for breeders so I was just curious if it was good for them and the snake that is eating the offspring.?

Eco earth is messy especially when soaked, I would not use it because of that and the fact that is does nothing for odor control.

I use pine Pellets and pine shavings (very absorbent and help with odor)

I use Corn Cob for my mouse bedding; that's what they use at UC Davis for their mice they do testing on there

I use aspen myself, I used to use pine, but the pine I was able to get was a lot dustier than the aspen

I use aspen for my mice. Its just a hair more expensive than pine,(which is cheap) available all over the place, and comes in big packs. Ive never heard of anyone using eco earth for rodents.....i couldnt imagine those cages smellin good :p
