I really don't think that locking that topic was necessary. I think that Brad & I had both arrived at a place where we agreed to take the political discussion elsewhere. I am not trying to tell you how to do your job & I understand your itchy trigger finger with the way things have been going lately, but I think that your locking the topic, one that i think we momentarily hijacked in fact, was not necessary. No biggie, just my double pennies!

I agree, if the thread was going to go in that direction, she did the right thing. I don't think it would have, but I'm not a mod so......I guess I just don't know what the general forum is for then, if topics get locked just because they could be controversial.....

I agree. It is the moderator's job to intervene before things get out of hand.
    Thanks,

I want to have an expert knowledge of snakes !!!

I didn't mean to seem like I was picking on you or Brad. You are right, you were both handling yourselves just fine and I do believe neither of you would have gone any farther with it. You both correctly re-directed your discussion to either private messages or another, more appropriate forum and I really do appreciate that. I should have stated so when I locked the thread. The trouble is, we have 600 other members with new ones signing up each day. I didn't want to see someone with less self-control than the two of you showed start posting more aggressive opinions.
