"Redemption" pictures of my granite, Ace

OK since this guy was dulled out in shed when I did my big outdoor photo shoot a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd be fair to him and take pictures of him now that he's pretty again. So here is Ace when he's NOT in shed.....

    Thanks.

He's a good TV buddy too. He's watching the Spurs/Heat game 3 with me right now.

    HAHA!!

    Very pretty.

    Questions:

    What makes him a granite?

This is what I'm seeing which would make it a granite:

Darker tone and there are more "eyes" in the alien heads which could be smaller and more "pebble" like. Also the stripe down the back threw me off. Is this right?

That's what I go by is the "pebble like" patterning on the sides, and the overall look matches what I see in pictures of other snakes labeled as granite (although I've never seen anything quite like that back stripe, but I think it's irrelevant as far as the morph goes). Also, his dad has that pebbled look as well, although faded and less pronounced. His dad has produced 3 other babies, but they have all inherited mom's reduced pattern.

We'll find out a lot more about this guy if and when his clutch hatches later this summer. Same goes for his dad, I believe.

Re: "Redemption" pictures of my granite, Ace

Ahh, ok. Sounds simple enough. Thanks. The stripe just made me think of pins and didn't think it was a granite trait.
