Being the skinflint and cheapskate that i am, I am always on the lookout for cheap hides especially as we need to upsize them. Here are some pics of some I have stumbled across recently:

Found this laying around the workroom - looks dirty but has been disinfected/cleaned thoroughly.

99 cent oval plastic planter from BigLots

99 cent plastic sandbucket (handle removed) from toy section at Target.

99 cent round plastic planter from BigLots

Humid hide - 3 for 99cent tupperware from Wal Mart filled with Sphagnum Moss.

    Post what you've found!

    Thanks for the tip, Smulkin.

Will, how did you make the hole in the bowl without shattering it? That's a cool hide I hadn't thought of, but I know the wood is pretty thin and I'd be worried about wasting a bowl.

Everyone's seen most of my hides, including my favorite humid hide of the coconut fiber, but I'll say this: the dollar store is your friend.

marla, i just used a simple pointed sand-paperish attachment that came with my craftsman rotary . it took me all of like 5 minutes. you're right though, it isn't even really a bowl as much as it is a thick basket. it does have some weight to it though. anyway, i also have a couple more wooden bowls i plan to do the same thing too, only these are much much thicker and much heavier. i'll get some pics of those when i get around to drilling them out.

i'm sorry, it was enevitable. everything i look at, i somehow incorporate it into snake decor.
this bowl made an awesome hide, so eat your salad out of something else.

Gee, Will, he's the same way. You should have seen him staring at those plastic sand buckets at Target.

Cool, Will, I look forward to seeing the results of those. And it quite expands the options for hides ... hmmm ...
