The picture above is the injury my cat inflicted on my snake, the wound would normally be very smooth but looks rigid because I put antibiotic ointment. The skin is separated, as you can see, and reddish pink flesh is showing, what do I do and will he survive????

    Re: Corn Snake Injury. Help?!?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but why was the cat allowed to be nesr your snake? And no one on here is going to be able to tell you that your snake will definitely be okay. We aren't vets. The only way you can accurately know that the snake will be treated properly and pull through it is to go to a herp vet. Just by looking at the pictures we can tell you what might be wrong but there is no way to tell if there is more damage that you cannot see.

Exclamation Re: Corn Snake Injury. Help?!?

My nephews left the door to my office open and unlocked, allowing the cat to enter and somehow, I have no earthly idea how as the enclosure lid was firmly shut, and remove the top. Im sorry that Im asking, but Im concerned and not as knowledgable as some of the people here, who at least could offer some basic insight on what to do and on the severity of the visible injury.

Change the substrate to something like paper towels to avoid anything sticking to the wound and possibly causing problems.

Put the picture somewhere like photobucket and then use the "direct link" they give you to share it on here.
