If you handle them for too long it can stress them out. I have been biten before, but it was my own fault. For some reason I had the bright idea to feed Snuffy mealworms from my fingers. She got my finger instead of the worm. She let go right away. It felt kinda like sand paper, it didn't hurt at all.

I have never been bitten by my little one. My baby is just difficult to handle wants to run as soon as it sees my arm, lol. The only thing my little one has done is licked me but no biting.

You shouldn't be holding your ball python all the time either, unfortunately, as it's stressful to the snake as well. Crested geckos do well with short handling sessions, as a rule, and from what I understand gargoyle geckos do too. Others, such as tokays and goldens, are pretty much "look but don't touch" critters. Anoles aren't geckos, but they'll get used to handling too.

I have had my leo for over a year now I take him out like twice a week at the most and let him run up and down my arm and on my shirt for like 15 minutes at a time. As far as being bitten not by a leo but a tokay did and ask long as they get your whole finger and not just a little flap of skin its not bad. Like a little kid pinching you. getting bit by a mouse or something with real teeth hurt way worse.

Yeah, it's always funny how people fixate on snake or lizard bites. Frankly, I don't really worry about them at all, but I do wear gloves when dealing with mice/gerbils/rats that aren't dead. Mostly because they don't warn you at all, just turn around and *CHOMP*. Nasty little mammals...

Snakes being evil?
Its funny how a reptile will warn you way longer than mamale will. And people are still more afraid of reptiles than mice or other soft furry things

You can hold the adults alot more than you can hold the babies. The babies are more skittish, and get stressed to the point of not eating very easily. You "can" hold your baby once a week, and you "can" how your adult 2-3 times a week. The longest you should ever hold a leopard gecko, is 10 minutes. You know what is odd, yesterday when we got Techo, it took us 30 minutes to catch him, but today, I went to change his cae, and I had to get him out, and he just let me pick him right up! They really do tame up fast!
