Heads Up Illinois Residents (and everybody else)

This pretty much explains it >>>>http://usherp.org/2013/04/25/action-...the-il-senate/

Please contact the representatives provided in the article, even if you are not an Illinois resident. The more that oppose the amendment, the better.

I sent messages to the representatives. They really seem to be trying to get rid of all our businesses in Il, huh?

I would just move out of illinois in general. Its a nanny state. Luckily I live in Ohio, but I will contact them, because I believe you should have the right to own a snake, and the right to own a gun concealed carry, without all the big brothering, from iknowthetruth
i know the truth...shhh...big brother is watching

    Unluckily, you mean. :/

I'm confused why USHA would want this approved? Or I'm not reading that correctly. Why would anybody need a permit to own a ball python? It's still regulation; that's what we're fighting.

Sometimes supporting some regulation is better than fighting all of it and winding up with stricter regs in the end. And if your talking about the bottom part its talking about the HSUS wanting to add permits for all constrictors.

"HSUS is seeking to ban the breeding of all pythons, boas and anacondas entirely in Illinois." (including ball pythons)

...why? what exactly will this accomplish?

    My question exactly.

Also, the way I read the current law, are permits already required for Ball Pythons in Illinois, because someone I know might already be breaking the law...

Any time you read "HSUS," feel free to interchange it with "PETA." Same people essentially.

No it isn't. You give them an inch and they'll take a mile.
According to the meaning of the term 'constrictor,' that means permits will be required even for corn and king snakes. So unless you're keeping garter snakes, you'll need a permit.

Im not against permits for large pythons and venomous. Permits can be ok if they are regulated fairly and not used as a means to ban something. I was however pointing out its hsus that wants to add the permit thing for all constrictors not usha as it looked like you said in your last post.
