Heat tape/Flexwatt
I was wondering what people are using for heat tape for ball pythons?
I have used the 11" flex watt on my dubia roach bin but that is my experience with the stuff. I also ordered it ready to go, cut to length, cord on etc.
I am going to be putting this on the bottom of a 20 gallon and a 40 gallon breeder and under the tile in my Aquarium/Viv set up.
Looking at maybe the Herpstat 2 if I could use it to control 2 set ups with the one thermostat. The 20g would be on a dimmer as temp in it would not need to be as accurate.
Right now all the setup lights are on times (I have played with bulb wattage's and dimmers etc. to get the temps where I need them) but none are heated from underneath at this time.
Thanks

The new THG heat from reptile basics is great. They switched from flexwatt to the THG tape not too long ago. I have 12" THG hookedup to my herpstat 1 and temps are perfect

I personally use Flexwatt and know that most people use Flexwatt as well.
What do you mean by under tile?
I think that it would be best to either get 2 thermostats, or a thermostat with 2 probes so that it can control both temps at the same time.
The Herpstat 4 should do that, or the Vivarium 300 Dual Zone.

The herpstat 2 has two probes and can control two different heat sources.

I've heard great things about the VE t-stats too. OP you really can't go wrong with either a herpstat or a VE.

Tiles are grouted together into a 56x24 (24x24 tiles) piece. The tape would be attached via foil tape to the underside of the tile. The Tile would be set on 1/4" "feet" off of the wood base.

All the heat tape specs I have read are saying you need a 1/4" of clearance, now those of you with racks are just setting your tubs on the tape right? If so then how concerned do I need to be about the 1/4" rule?

My tubs have basically a 1/4 air space on the bottom. So I follow it, I would never suggest doing something in violation of the manufacturers instructions IF something goes wrong an insurance company may decide to not cover anything.
