Adult BP hasn't eaten in over 8 months

I acquired an adult BP, about 8 months ago. I was told the snake was eating before I got it, and the animals size and girth would suggest that it was a good eater at some point in its life. However, It has refused food the entire time I've owned the snake. I have tried live mice, F/T, mice, F/T rats, and the animal has zero interest. It is housed on newsprint in a sterilite tub. Undertank heat, Temps are 82-83, with a 93 hot spot, with a hide. Humidity is always 60-70%. I have tried nudging the snakes mouth open with the f/t adult mouse, and actually got the mouse into the mouth, but the snake refuses to close the mouth around the food. The snake has lost weight since I've had it, but still has decent size, it is alert, aware and looks otherwise healthy. I'm at my wits end with this animal. What should I do?

Have you tried live rats or leaving the ft in over night? I've had girls go off feed for that long but only my 2500+g girls. Also maybe drop the hot spot a few degrees.

I've left the F/T mice and rats in over night, but obviously never live overnight. I haven't tried live rats....mostly because I don't have anything else that will eat a med-rat, and I don't want to keep it if it doesn't eat it..lol. I guess I could dispatch the rat if it doesn't eat. I don't have a gramscale, but this is a fairly large snake, I'd guess upwards of 2000g or more. I don't know the sex of the animal.

After this long I think it would be good to see if he/she would take a rat. If its losing weight it's probably ready to eat. I would definitely offer a small live rat.

What size enclosure? Have you tried ASFs?

All of my adult males have been off feed since October. Its pretty normal. They've lost a little weight, but not enough for me to worry.

ASFs? Enclosure size is 36l x 24w x 8h. I'm starting to get a little concerned, (as well as a little annoyed at spending money for prey items that aren't eaten..lol) it's been like 8 months....

African Soft Furred rats. They're good to jump start some picky eaters.
