I took some of my snakes to him the other day (I'm cutting down my reptile collection, and he was kind enough to take some!), and I came home with two more tarantulas!

They both look pretty much the same, so I'll just post a pic of "#78". I haven't named her yet, but I did get to handle her while at Marcus' house.

Oh, yeah. They are Honduran Curlyhair T's (Brachypelma Albopilosum).

    Congrats!
BA's are one of my favorites, sadly I am allergic to there bite, but we love them none the less!
I find them to be a strong beautiful species, ecspecially when the light hits them just right.
    Well congrats again!

When it comes to Arachnids I'm just about totally clueless. Rusty mentioned he is allergic to the bite of these BA's. So you T owners out there handle them a lot? Does it depend on what kind they are? They bite frequently or rarely? What are the bites like...etc.

I do handle mine, but I do not recommend it. I do so at my own risk and know there could be consequences. I have never been bitten as I do have a pretty good understanding of their body language and know when they do not want to be messed with.

And Rusty, I'd like to hear about the reactions from that bite. There isn't too much documented about tarantula bites.

Yes, at one point, I had over 150 tarantulas.

I've got it down to a mere 42 now.

A mere 42 eh, I guess after 150 that would seem like only a few. Can you house them together? If not, wow, thats a lot of caging.

No, they all have their own little homes.

If you click on my Webshots photos below, there's a link in there showing my critter room, And yep, it's a lot of caging.

But they manage to keep the noise down
