I have read a little bit about the dangers of powerfeeding you're redtail & how it shortens there life, but i was wondering if you do it once a month if its still as dangerous and if it would make a difference at all in there growth

Powerfeeding isn't good in any case. Really does a number on their guts.

Well, the main reason people powerfeed is to get the snake(s) bigger quicker so they can breed earlier.....its all about greed and money, with no concern for what it does to the animals. Powerfeeding is animal abuse IMO and anyone who partakes in such practices needs a few dozen Big Macs shoved down their throat at once. Grrr......people piss me off.

I actualy want my snake to grow as slow as possible, I dont need a 9ft red tail right away.. I was just curious about how powerfeeding works and if the method is as dangerous if you are persistant then if u just do it once in a while. I never plan on feeding my snake mouse after mouse, but its just a good thing to know a little more then what a caresheet will tell you.

You should feed your baby boa at least twice a month. As it gets bigger, you can decrease the frequency of feedings. Powerfeeding is overfeeding. Feeding once a month isn't powerfeeding, IMO, unless you are cramming 3-4 prey items down your snakes throat.
