    UTH and thermostat Qs!

So I am very new to this. I have read all the info on the site!
I just got my BP a UTH and a Vivarium-200 thermostat. Before I tape this on the underside of the cage I want to be CERTAIN

    - Ultratherm UTH taped directly to the glass under the cage
    - thermostat set to 90 degrees
    - probe taped between UTH and glass
    - polystyrene insulation under the UTH
    - a layer of aspen bedding but not very thick (so there is nothing else separating the UTH from the snake but the glass and a little bit of aspen)

Is all of this okay? Will she (my BP) be safe and happy with all of these things? I just want some reassurance before I do this. Thank you for reading!

As long as you set it to the right temp the setup sounds good.

Your going to loose a few degrees of heat but I like to start low and bump it up. I would start with something around 92-94 and see what that gets you. My setup like this runs at 98 and provides a 90-91 hotspot. Being that your devices may be different than mine you may need to set your tstat higher or lower than me.

A temp gun is really best to check the temp but a probe thermometer can work too.
