Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

AMEN! I couldn't think of a bigger dagger to stick in Osama's heart than to rebuild the WTC bigger and better!

I could not be happier! This is the way we show that you cannot tell us what we can & cannot do, what we will & will not do. We will not live in fear! We are a nation of strength, courage & freedom. No worthless, two bit extremist is going to take that away from us. I tell ya what, if it were possible, i would be first in line to climb right to the top of that building & dare somebody to try to take it down!

God Bless the United States of America & all those brave men & women who serve in her military every single day. Red, white & blue used to be just a color scheme to me but since that fateful day, those colors run through my blood. I love this country!

I'm glad they'll do the groundbreaking on July 4. That seems a fitting date. I can't help thinking that a memorial to the dead, wounded, and left behind (preferably with some of the original rubble onsite, and a film loop of the planes and their aftermath) would be more appropriate than a crass commercial venture like an office building, but it seems I may be the only one here who feels that way. I definitely don't think the site should be left unused, though.

I'm sure the new building will have a memorial in the lobby for all those who died... I'd love to see somethin like the Vietnam wall... with the names enscribed on a slate of marble or something

Yeah Marla, as part of the plans for this site they were, last i knew, kickin around two ideas. One was to have a memorial in the lobby & the other was to have a garden/park outside the building but on the same site with a memorial. The reason for the "crass commercial venture" is to say that just because you destroyed the buildings that produced & housed more economic power than any other single sit in the world doesn't mean that we won't find a way to make that happen again. Their attack on New York was as much for hammering our financial fiber as it was for show. So, in this case, we get to stick it up their bums in more ways than one!
