    Rough Patch on Head

    I've been trying to switch my 6mo BP to F/T for about 4 weeks. Since he hasn't eaten in awhile, he's definitely more active in his tub, and he tries to push the lid off occasionally (I can only assume in search of food). As a result, he has a small patch of scales on the top of his head that look hazy/cloudy, I assume from the rubbing on the plastic lid of his tub.
    Is this something I should worry about? He's super headshy, so I've never touched his head to see what it feels like. Just want to make sure he's not in pain/discomfort because of it.

    And just in case any of this matters:

    1. How long have you had your ball python?
    6-7 months
    2. How old (or how big) is your snake?
    6-7 months; ~26 inches; ~460g
    3. Does it eat on a regular schedule?
    Yes, except since I started to try with F/T
    4. How long since its last meal?
    ~4 weeks
    5. What type/size prey is being offered?
    Currently, F/T mice
    6. How often do you offer food?
    Every 5 days
    7. What type and size of enclosure does it live in?
    Sterilite tub - 28qt, maybe?
    8. What are you using as substrate? If it has depth, how deep is it?
    Paper towels
    9. What type of heating do you use?
    UTH for hot side; CHE for cool side
    10. Do you use a thermostat to control temperatures?
    2 separate Hydrofarms (one for UTH; one for CHE)
    11. What do you use to measure/monitor temperatures?
    Accurrite
    12. What are the surface and ambient temperatures in the enclosure?
    Hot: 90-92 surface; Cool: 78-80 ambient
    13. What is the average humidity level?
    Lately, 30-40% (dry winter air in the Northeast); currently trying to bump that up a bit
    14. How many and what type of hides does the snake have?
    Two hides from Reptile Basics
    15. Is water readily available at all times?
    Yes
    16. Does the snake live alone or does it share the enclosure with anything else?
    Alone
    17. How often and for how long is the snake typically handled?
    Prob. ~5 times/week for 10-15min per time
    18. Does the snake have any medical history (old injuries or illnesses)?
    No
    19. Do you have any other reptiles? Have you brought in any new reptiles recently?
    No
    20. Is there anything specific or unique about your situation that we should be aware of?
    No
