First lock and a couple questions

Got my first lock ever last night! Pastel YB x Proven Spider. Saw them lock one more time and took him out this morning. I tried to pair this male with my normal awhile ago but never saw anything. Ill be putting them together again soon, but I have aspen bedding in her tub. Should I switch to paper towels or will I be ok?

I also might be moving in the spring but only an hour away. Anyone have experience with this? Is there a safe time in between developing and building to move them(assuming all goes well)?
    Thanks

I have always used news paper and paper towels with all my snakes and have never had problems. You should be fine with sticking to paper towels.

I moved in may last year with females in various states (from eggs in an incubator to females who wouldnt lay until November).

I only had one clutch with slugs, but besides that all but one of my females went last season.
