Tweaking
SWEETEST little girl - downright friendly if I can be so bold.
A close up showing how the rims of her eyes are extruded from mites (though not as well as can be seen with rotation in handling):

IBD question
Poor little thing! She's very pretty, despite the bugs.

Thanks all for the wishes! Anyone who has dealt with this before have any tips on treating the eyes? Got her chin covered pretty good as I know they are big into there as well as the eyes - i'm just very wary of getting anything in them.
All I was able to find in this area, and keep in mind the need was immediate, was Reptile Relief (http://www.naturalchemistry.com/pet/...p?idProduct=65) which has so far done an outstanding job of killing the little snits on contact BAM!

wait so u can't actually see mites, but you can tell by their eyes?

Oh no you can definitely see them (pic in husbandry forum http://www.ball-pythons.net/PNphpBB2...ic-t-2677.html ). They like to get around the eyesocket because it's a much jucier meal for them there. When they get down in next to they eye you cant see them but the rim of the eye looks a little puffier or extruded (if it gets bad enough the eye almost looks sunken in).
EDIT - here are some better pics than I was able to manage: http://images.google.com/images?q=Op...ff&sa=N&tab=wi

She's a beaut and doing quite well - even nicer now she's mite-free.
Love the way her dorsal coloring changes and her tail stripe is a much lighter yellow.

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.
