Oh no Mike! I hate that for ya! You'd better get some Black Knight ordered ASAP and make sure they all have access to good soaking spots in the meantime.

I'd be so pissed if I got a snake with mites.
Black knight isn't in production anymore to do some issues with pollutants not complying with the environment laws. That crap in aerosol cans is too high. Provent-a-mite is still around though. Check the external parasites guide in medical.

ME TOO ME TOO!
Our recent addition came with attachments. She's in quarantine, trying to shed, had a nice soak, had some Reptile Relief (only stuff i could get my hands on immediately) and doing ok. Looks like she may have a good bit of them dug in around her eyes. I feel so oooo bad for her as she is without hesitation the sweetest most tractable BP I've encountered - damn determined to get her in the clear.

What do you guys think about "mega-mites"? Supposedly they feed on snake mites, and die off as soon as all of them have been eaten. It is said on their website (i found the link on rtb, not sure what it is but i'll post if if anyone wants me too...) that you can see the snake mites being eaten right before your very eyes.
I don't think I would release any form of parasite into my snake's cage, whether it be mega-mites or super-duper-mega-ticks. "They" say it works, though.

Heh I remember reading something along those lines Will - I'd be hesitant too. What happens after they've done thier job? Do they hang out and die off or move on out into your general household - heck they might even find humans suitable. Need some engineered nano-critters for the job. Onse you've dealt with em and found em craling on YOU from the snake . . man every little itch or hair popping up on my arm just . . . guh!

Yep, they sound like a cool approach to mite treatment, but I am wary of them for the reasons you've given as well as overall lack of info on them -- will they harm the snake? What about other pets? Do they carry parasites that can be transmitted to people or animals in the household?
