Well, last night I arrived home to find that Gob, my big male BP, had shed in one perfect piece. I decided to see if he was hungry. I placed a large f/t rat in his cage (well, wiggled it around actually). He was very interested, but suddenly backed off and balled up. So I thought, maybe the rat is too big? I got one of the medium sized rats and tried again, and he took it instantly. I guess that he just didn't want a huge adult rat.
Gob is fully grown, and very fat, but for some reason I think his head is abnormally small.
I am happy, because he has not eaten since Valentines day. I ahd been trying every 7-8 days with the larger rat until he went into shed.

congrats Jen! I know what a huge relief that must be!!
Life is like a game of poker. You can play each hand to the best of your ability but you are still going to run into a bad beat from time to time. What matters is how you handle it. Do you go on tilt or can you maintain your composure & rebuild your stack?

Yep, sometimes a smaller prey item will do the trick! Congrats, I know you're feeling relieved.
