Wow, that sheet I am trying to put together (I've included colubrids now) is helping me learn a lot! (I'm trying to put together a sheet that lists the scientific and common names of each boa, python, and colubrid and then lists max length difficulty in keeping and temperment - it will take quite a while) but I was reading today about the African House Snake and they are quite cool - David Beard tipped me off to them and they look sort of like a python but they are colubrids and you can get a few color morphs and they are supposed to be the easiest snakes to breed ever. Does anyone know of a breeder?
    thanks!

Hey Jonah, good to see you around! A good place to check out is http://www.cherryvillereptiles.com - in fact they not only breed Af house snakes but also have various colors and even albinos! African house snakes make great pets - they are about as easy to care for as corns and resemble pythons! Good decision investigating them, I think a red lace African House Snake would make a great addition to your collection you could house it in the smallest of the animal plastics cages and it would have plenty of room even if it were a large adult! http://animalshare.wantapet.com/anim...ics/index.html

    Apparently we're not eating again

haha I didn't really mean to post whore - I am REALLY over tired, as usual but that's par for the course this time of year. I just figured others might be curious and if I could answer at least if anyone else had a question we could just direct them to this post. And if any others are curious African House Snakes are sweet! I am honestly torn between and Af house snake and BCI I dropped the desire for a hognose once I found out that their saliva could cause my girlfriend to have an allergic reaction. If you haven't checked out Af house snakes do - they're an up and coming breed and they breed REALLY easily but people are just starting to develop cool morphs. Plus it was hard to find an Af house snake "specialist" so if anyone is looking to start out breeding you may be able to make a mark with some sweet af house snake morphs! Plus they're a good beginner snake.

To give credit where credit is due, David Beard is the one who suggested looking into this snake.

I've been considering them for a while now, too, Jonah, and I was glad to see you pull the info together. If I get ready to buy one I'll have at least one breeder ready to look at!
