I've been to the repticon shows here in Orlando, and I'd expect them to be pretty similar to the ones in your area. They are decent size shows with lots of different reptiles to see/buy.

As far as bringing your pets goes, it can be somewhat risky to do just because of the exposure to -all- of the other herps there. Mites and anything else contagious would be a concern. Besides, you want to bring pets from the show home, not the other way around
